Tinubu will turn around Nigeria economy — Omo-Agege

Immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, has assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu would turn around the economy for the better.

Omo-Agege gave the assurance, weekend, in Ughelli, during a reception held in his honour to officially welcome him back to Delta State after his term.

According to him, “We are here because this is my official home coming and with this, I will continue to be interacting with you because it was you all that put this government in place.   We championed and for the aspiration of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Tinubu.

“We took his message of the renewed hope to every part of Delta State and I am appealing to you that have not received their jobs recompense to be patient as some has had theirs.

“I am confident that the president will remember everybody, but one thing is clear, the President has not disappointed us. When we went out fighting, we knew how his track record was as the governor of Lagos State.

“When he started, we saw the economic downturn, the dollar spiralling out of control but as at today, things are now taking shape gradually.

“If President Tinubu succeeds, we all succeed, some say his mandate is four years but we believed that his mandate is for eight years, and we know that in that eight years, he is going to turn everything around in the country and all of us will benefit from it.“

On his part, Delta Central Senator, Ede Dafinone, who chaired the event said: “Having been a member of the opposition for the past 16 years, all I have to say is that our leader, Sen. Omo-Agege no doubt the most organised, the most structured and the most successful of any campaign to remove the PDP from office.

“When our leader, Sen. Omo-Agege was elevated to the position of the Deputy President of the  Senate, some prominent Urhobo leaders were trying to detract from his position and I felt for an Urhobo man to occupy the fifth position most significant position in Nigeria, it should be encouraged. “
