FG SIGNS CONTRACT TO BOOST POWER SECTOR

The federal government in partnership with the FGN power company, FGNC, has signed a contract valued at over 118 trillion dollars with the elsewedy electric and power China company in a bid to advance the country’s power sector.

speaking at the signing ceremony which held in Abuja yesterday, the minister of power, Adebayo Adelabu noted that this initiative is designed to complement ongoing mid-stream transmission projects, aimed at securing efficient power delivery to residential, commercial, and industrial areas across Nigeria.

this contract will fund the construction and rehabilitation of over 2,670 kilometers of distribution lines, including 33kilovots, 11kv, and 400vots circuits, throughout the country.

on his part, FGNPC managing director, Kenny Anuwe, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership, and cited the Chinese company’s record in Egypt as a reassurance of the high standards and efficiency to be expected.
