Manchester City are trying to beat Brighton to the signing of 19-year-old Argentine left-back Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors.
The reports are that Brighton’s scouts have been tracking the defender for a while but City are now primed to trigger his £8m release clause.
Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig are also credited with an interest.
