Bangladesh has issued a high security alert as violent clashes between students and police continue.
The information minister, Muhammad Hasan Mahmud made this known in an interview with newsmen in Dhaka.
according to Mahmud, the move was necessary after protesters resulted into act of vandalism and arson which has resulted in the death of 19 persons.
recall that students are protesting against discrimination in the Bangladeshi system, asking for recruitment based on merit.
