EKITI LOCAL GOVERNMENT PENSIONERS LAMENT NON PAYMENT OF NINE MONTHS ALLOWANCE
Members of concerned local government pensioners in Ekiti state have expressed disappointment in the failure of government to pay outstanding pensions for up to nine months.
At a prayer session on Tuesday, the Pensioners noted that they were living in abject poverty with several of their members including primary school teachers pensioners being unable to feed themselves and many others lying on sick beds.
In a statement signed by the association’s Chairman, Alhaji Quadri Oguntuase, they wondered why they had been denied their nine months benefits despite availability of local government allocations to settle them.
They therefore appealed to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti to urgently come to their aid.
