The committee however resolved to leave other eight chairmen of Oye, Ise Orun , Ekiti East, Ikeere, Efon Alaaye, Ido- Osi, Ilejemeje and Emure suspended due to their seeming flagrant mismanagement of public funds without approval.

‘For example, the suspended Chairman of Oye local Government claimed in his submitted account of stewardship that he spent the sum of #8.2m on fumigation activities in the month of March, 2018. The financial report submitted by Ise Orun LG council stated that the sum of #7m was spent on desilting of drainages during months of February and March, 2018…’

He however said their reinstatement which followed a petition by Chairman of the Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria, ALGON, Dapo Olagunju was still subject to review pending conclusion of investigations into their management of funds.
