All Progressives Congress Senator, Ahmed Lawan has emerged as President of the 9th Senate after defeating his only Contender, Ali Ndume.
Lawan was nominated by Senator Solomon Adeola while Yahaya Abdullahi seconded the nomination.
Lawan, who was the endorsed candidate of the APC polled 79 votes while Ndume polled 28 votes.
He has since been sworn.
